About Dodge

Dodge Johnson, Ph.D., CEP (Certified Educational Planner), has been helping students and families since 1984. Because he's in solo practice, clients work exclusively with him, not with assistants or secretaries.

A former teacher, tenured professor, college dean and university provost, Dodge is a connoisseur of colleges. He keeps track of 550+ in the US and Canada – and also of practical and specialized training opportunities.

His clients are diverse in ability, preparation, and goals. About half are near Philadelphia. The rest come from 20+ states and four continents. They attend colleges nationwide.

Experts in education seek him for their children: teachers, professors, admissions officers, deans, provosts, trustees, guidance counselors, principals, editors, psychologists – even other consultants.

A former member of college accrediting teams, Dodge visits 40+ campuses a year to learn what makes them distinctive. He is a frequent speaker, guest on radio and television, and contributor to professional organizations.

He's a working writer. For 13 years his columns on colleges and careers appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer and as individual pieces in 40+ newspapers. He's the editor of College Power: The Best Resources to Help You Get In.

A graduate of Princeton with advanced degrees from Chapel Hill, Dodge is active in the National Association of College Admission Counseling. He has been a board member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and a faculty member at the Pennsylvania Association of College Admission Counseling's Summer Institute for new admissions and guidance personnel.

Dodge is an independent specialist. Because he's paid only by clients and not colleges or schools, his sole concern is what's best for students and families. He is married with one son and one daughter.
